How to Care Your Car Tire

Car's tire is the only contact point between the car and the road. So however the engine of the car performs, it highly rely on the tire. Keeping the tire in good condition will lead to safe driving and optimum performance of the car. Believe it or not, through the tire, we also can save more mileage in our journey because good condition tire support efficiency in mileage consumption. so here is some tips you can use to keep that "rounded-thing" always in its good condition:
1. Check your car tire pressures regularly. It is recommended to check it at least once a week. enough pressures of the tire will make your car machine works efficiently thus improve the mileage consumption. It claims that fuel consumption can be improved by 10%.
Note that over pressures for your car tire will damage your tire faster because it will decrease the contact point between the tire and the road. The tire accelerate using the center of the thread, all the tension focus on that point that become the reason of the tire damage faster.
Less pressures tire will damage faster than over pressures tire because too much contact point to the road lead to higher operating temperature, this can cause rapid wear of the tread shoulders. The condition worse if you drive long trip in high speed. the tire has high possibility to blow-out because of its over high temperature.
2. Always carry a spare. It is not a legal requirement but you'll be thankful you have one when a tire gets a puncture in a remote location. If using a compact spare tire remember not to exceed 50 mph and replace it at the earliest opportunity. Always check the spare whether it is in ready-use condition and put its pressures a little bit higher than others.
3. Check the car tires for any unusual bulges or lumps as these are often a sign of internal damage. Inspect the tread and sidewall rubber for any signs of cracking as this can cause the tire blow-out.
4. Keep the tire valves clean and always remember to replace the dust cap.
5. Avoid driving over of potholes (holes on the road). The extra flexing of the rubber will faster the damage of the tire.
6. Remove any stones and other objects embedded in a car tire's tread. If you find a nail do not remove it as the tire will rapidly deflate. Instead take the tire to a specialist who may be able to repair the puncture.
7. Keep the car in a garage if it is possible. Weather exposure causes cracking on the car tires of vehicles kept outside. if it is impossible, routinely apply the tire wax to the sidewall of the tires as it can moist it and reduce the crack possibility.
8. Take care when using a pressure washer as it can cause damage to a tire's sidewall. Only use at a safe distance.
9. Try to replace all four tires at the same time. If this is not possible replace either the two front or the two back tires together. It will prevent uneven wear which can affect the vehicle's handling.
10. Consult a car tire specialist before replacing a tire. They will advise on the right choice of tire according to your car's make, your budget and your driving circumstances. It is recommended to use exactly the same size of the previous tire so that it will match your velg and the mile count on the speedometer will stay accurate.
